Siding, trim & exterior repair

Siding is weatherproofing, not decoration.

Siding replacement and repair across the Midlands — fiber cement, vinyl and wood, with the rot behind it fixed and the house wrap, flashing and trim detailed so water leaves instead of collecting.

What gets skipped

New siding over bad sheathing is a cover-up.

The failure is almost never the siding itself. It is what water did behind it while nobody was looking.

In our climate, water gets in at the details — window and door flashing, kick-out flashing where a roof meets a wall, band boards, deck ledgers, and every penetration somebody caulked instead of flashing. By the time siding looks bad, the sheathing behind it often already is.

So we open it up. Rotten sheathing and framing get replaced, house wrap is installed as a drainage plane rather than a formality, flashing goes in the correct order, and trim gets detailed so water runs off instead of sitting on a horizontal surface.

Because we do restoration too, this is also the crew that removes rot after a leak and rebuilds structure after storm impact. Same standard, whether it is an insurance claim or a project you are paying for.

What we handle

Exterior work we do.

Fiber cement siding

Full replacement in fiber cement, installed to the manufacturer's spacing, fastening and clearance requirements so the warranty means something.

Vinyl siding

Repair and full replacement, including matching where a section was damaged and the rest of the elevation is sound.

Rot and sheathing repair

Sheathing, band boards, framing and trim replaced wherever water has been getting in — the part you cannot see from the driveway.

Wrap, flashing and details

House wrap as a real drainage plane, window and door flashing, kick-out flashing at roof-wall intersections, and proper clearances at grade and roofs.

Trim, soffit and fascia

Exterior trim, soffit, fascia and columns repaired or replaced in materials that survive our humidity.

Storm and insurance repair

Impact, wind and hail damage documented and repaired as part of the claim, with the interior handled by the same company.

How it runs

Open it, fix it, close it properly.

Inspect and probe

We check the areas that actually fail — penetrations, roof-wall intersections, band boards, below windows — rather than pricing off a photo.

Written scope and allowances

What is being replaced, what is being repaired, and how unknown rot is handled if we find more once the wall is open.

Repair the substrate

Sheathing and framing replaced, then wrap and flashing installed in the correct sequence. This is the part that determines whether it lasts.

Install and detail

Siding and trim installed to spec, penetrations flashed, and a walkthrough with you before we call it done.

Soft spots, gaps or storm damage?

We will look behind the siding, not just at it, and tell you whether this is a repair, a section, or the whole elevation.

Common questions

Siding questions we get asked most.

Can you replace just one wall or one section?

Yes, and often that is the right call after storm or impact damage. We will tell you honestly when color and profile matching means the seam is going to show.

Is fiber cement worth the extra cost over vinyl?

In this climate it usually holds up better and looks better, especially on the sun-exposed elevations. Vinyl is a reasonable choice on a budget when it is installed correctly. We will price both.

How much rot will you find behind my siding?

Nobody knows until it is open. We probe the likely areas first, price the rot we can confirm, and handle anything extra as a written change order with photos before it is built.

Do you handle windows at the same time?

It is a good time for it — a wall that is already open makes flashing a new window far easier and better. We will scope them together if you want.

Will insurance cover siding damage?

Wind, hail and impact damage often is covered. Documentation decides it, which is the part we are used to doing.
