Bathroom remodeling that is waterproofed properly.
Tile showers, tubs, vanities and accessible walk-in conversions across Columbia, West Columbia, Lexington and the surrounding Midlands — built by a company that spends the rest of its week repairing water damage.
We get called to fix other people’s showers.
A bathroom is the one room where cutting a corner does not show up for two years — and then it shows up as a water damage claim and a floor that has to come out.
Because we run a restoration company, we have opened up plenty of failed showers. Pan liners that were never sloped. Tile set straight onto drywall. Nothing behind the tile at all. So we build ours to the waterproofing detail the product actually calls for, and we do not hide the subfloor we find underneath.

What a bathroom project with us covers.
Tile showers, built wet-first
Waterproofing membrane, sloped pan and sealed corners installed to the system’s specification before a single tile goes on.
Tubs and tub-to-shower conversions
Replacement tubs, or removing the tub entirely for a larger walk-in shower where the framing allows.
Vanities, tops and fixtures
Single and double vanities, plumbing relocation where the layout changes, and fixtures set to the finish you picked.
Accessible and walk-in conversions
Curbless entries, blocking for grab bars set into the framing, benches and comfort-height fixtures — planned for someone specific, not generic.
What is under the floor
Soft subfloor, rotted joists and failed flanges get repaired, not tiled over. We tell you what we find with a price attached.
Ventilation and lighting
A fan that actually moves air to the outside, plus the lighting and receptacle work code requires in a wet room.
What actually moves the number.
| Decision | Effect on cost | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Keeping the existing layout | Lowest | Fixtures stay where the drains already are. The largest saving available in a bathroom. |
| Tub-to-shower conversion | Moderate | Usually worth it in a primary bath. Keep at least one tub in the house if you may sell. |
| Tile size and pattern | Moderate | Labor, not material, drives this. Small mosaics and herringbone take far longer to set. |
| Moving the toilet | Moderate to high | The drain and vent have to move with it, which often means opening the floor below. |
| Curbless / accessible entry | Moderate | Requires recessing the framing. Much cheaper to do now than to retrofit later. |
| What we find behind the tile | Variable | In older Midlands homes, long-term shower leaks are common. Priced openly when found. |
We do not publish package prices. A bathroom priced sight-unseen is a number designed to get in the door, and it always changes once the tile comes off.
Bathrooms we actually built
Down to the framing, waterproofed properly, then back up.

Bathroom remodeling questions.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A straightforward bathroom is usually a few weeks from demolition to punch list. Tile and glass lead times and the number of trades that have to sequence through a small room drive the schedule more than the labor does.
Can you convert my tub into a walk-in shower?
Usually yes. We check the framing and the drain location first, and if a curbless entry is the goal we tell you up front whether the floor structure will allow it.
What waterproofing do you use?
A complete system rather than a patchwork — membrane, sloped pan and sealed corners installed to the manufacturer’s detail. It is the part of the job you will never see and the part that decides whether it lasts.
Will you find things once the tile comes off?
Sometimes, especially in homes built before the 1990s. Long-running shower leaks damage subfloor and framing. You get told what we found, with a price, before we carry on.
Do you do accessible bathrooms for aging in place?
Yes — curbless showers, blocking set into the framing for grab bars, benches, comfort-height fixtures and wider door openings. Planned around the person who will actually use it.
