The fire is out. The damage is not.
Board-up, soot and smoke cleaning, odor removal and the full rebuild after a fire — including the water the fire department left behind.
Got it — thank you.

Most fire damage happens after the fire.
Soot, smoke residue and firefighting water do more measurable harm to a house than flame does — and all three get worse with time.
Smoke travels where air travels. It gets into wall cavities, HVAC returns, attic insulation and the underside of cabinets in rooms the fire never reached. Painting over it does not work; the odor comes back the first humid week.
Soot is acidic. Left alone it permanently etches glass, discolors metal and stains grout and finishes that could have been cleaned in the first days. The water used to put the fire out then soaks materials that are already compromised, so a fire loss is almost always a water loss too.
We treat all three: structure, residue and odor. Cleaning what can be cleaned, removing what cannot, sealing what remains, and rebuilding with the same crew that documented it.
What a fire loss actually involves.
Emergency board-up
Openings closed, roof tarped, the structure secured against weather and entry the same day, so the loss stops growing overnight.
Water from firefighting
Extraction and structural drying — the same process as any water loss, because that is what it is.
Learn moreSoot and residue cleaning
Surfaces cleaned by residue type — dry smoke, wet smoke, protein and puff-back all behave differently and none respond to the same method.
Odor removal
Source removal first, then cleaning, then sealing, then air treatment. Skipping straight to fogging is how odor comes back in July.
HVAC and duct work
Smoke pulled through the return spreads through the whole house. Ducts and equipment are inspected and addressed rather than assumed clean.
Full reconstruction
Framing, drywall, trim, paint, flooring, cabinets and fixtures put back by the same company that documented what came out.

Secure the property
Board-up, tarping and lock-down first. An open house after a fire invites weather and theft into an already bad week.
Assess and document
Room-by-room photos, residue type identified, affected contents inventoried, water damage measured. This becomes the claim file.
Clean, remove, deodorize
Salvageable surfaces cleaned, unsalvageable materials removed to a clean line, framing sealed where residue penetrated, then air treatment.
Rebuild and finish
Reconstruction to pre-loss condition, with any upgrades you choose quoted separately so you can see exactly what is claim and what is yours.
After a fire
Damaged material out, structure cleaned and sealed, then rebuilt.

If it is happening right now, call.
Soot is acidic and keeps etching metal, glass and finishes for as long as it sits. A phone call gets a faster answer than anything typed into a form.
Fire and smoke questions we get asked most.
Can smoke smell really be removed, or does it always come back?
It can be removed, but only by removing the source. Odor that returns was never treated — it was masked. Materials holding residue have to come out or be sealed, and that is the step people skip.
What can be saved and what cannot?
Hard, non-porous surfaces usually clean up. Porous items that absorbed smoke — some upholstery, mattresses, insulation, particle board — usually do not. We inventory both sides so the claim reflects reality.
Do you handle the contents, not just the building?
Yes. Contents are inventoried, packed out, cleaned where cleanable, and stored until the house is ready. See our contents pack-out page for how that works.
How long does a fire rebuild take?
Small kitchen fires can be weeks. A significant structural fire is months, and the honest answer depends on engineering, permits and material lead times. We give you a schedule and update it rather than guessing once.
Is the water damage part of the same claim?
Generally yes — water used to fight the fire is part of the fire loss. We document it as one file so it does not get treated as two separate arguments.
Also part of a fire loss.
